Capacity Building for Churches and Affiliates

Churches, district offices, and affiliates are constantly looking for ways to improve their services and making their organizational management more efficient, transparent, and aligned to our mission and values.  The UUCP sends technical experts or advisers to help facilitate conversatsions that bring out well-informed proposal and eventually the solutions from the local members and leaders.

Business Loans

Business Loans are available to church units, leaders and members depending on availability of funds, viability of business proposals, and purpose of sectoral empowerment or advocacy that will benefit from the income generated.

Student Scholarships

Church youth and young adults are eligible to apply for scholarships in their local congregations for elementary and high school and apply with the Toribio S. Quimada Scholarship Fund for college students.  In local scholarships, rules may vary depending on church leadership decisions, but in the TSQ Scholarship for college students, there are required school evaluation grades to be met.  Eligbility criteria often include level of indigency / need and urgency from proximity to completion. hurch youth and young adults are eligible to apply for scholarships in their local congregations for elementary and high school and apply with the Toribio S. Ministerial Formation

The MInisterial Formation Program is in its pilot phase. 13 pioneering students have just started and they are part of a 2-year program teaching religious studies, church administration, and social justice.  Students must be at least high school graduate with a capacity for reading english, communication in their vernacular, and fulfilling academic requirements.

Religious Education

Making sure that churches are adults and children are well-versed in articulating their values, beliefs, and realize their agency in the world require large number of hours in congregation where religious education can be a separate part of the service or embedded in it.  RE is also part of every meeting of any church organization.  Conversation is the usual pedagogy if not workshops, experiential exposures, and presentations.

Retreats and Community Building

The UU way of spreading our radical welcome is by hosting events that are open for non-UUs.   Meditations, retreats, conversational forums, seminars, and others are ways we invite people who are different from us.  This ensures our faith that we continue to be vibrant and evolving.

International Alliances

The church is constantly looking for ways to make friends with people from all over the world, whether they are UUs or not, so that we create communities practicing peaceful ways of transforming society through cooperation and collaboration.
